Erdogan invited Vladimir Putin to Turkey for the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has invited Russian leader Vladimir Putin to Turkey on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.


"This year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations, and we invited Mr. Putin to our country on this occasion," he said, in particular, in an interview with journalists following the talks in Moscow.


Erdogan added that Turkey and Russia have a long history of relations and Ankara wants to continue cooperation with Moscow on the basis of mutual respect.


The main topic of the talks between the presidents of Russia and Turkey was the situation in the Syrian Idlib. The leaders signed a Memorandum according to which the ceasefire comes into force on March 6. In addition, a 12-kilometer security corridor will be created in Idlib near the M-4 highway, and joint patrols will begin on March 15.
