Erdogan Says Turkey is Ready to Cooperate in Syrian Settlement

03 July

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan informed Russian President Vladimir Putin that Ankara is ready to collaborate on achieving a settlement in Syria, particularly in combating terrorism within the country. This announcement came from the Turkish President's office following the leaders' meeting in Astana.

"President Erdogan stated that Turkey is determined to prevent the establishment of a terrorist organization near its borders and is ready to cooperate to find a solution. This includes taking concrete steps to end the instability caused by the civil war, which provides fertile ground for terrorist activities in Syria," the statement reads.

During his meeting with Putin, the Turkish leader also addressed concerns over Israel's actions. "Israel's attacks on Palestinian lands and threats against Lebanon target regional and global peace and stability," Erdogan remarked. "The further spread of the conflict will cause the greatest damage to the countries in the region. The international community should now focus on this and stop Israel," he added, according to his office.
