Israeli Evacuation Orders in Gaza Impact 213,000 Palestinians

21 August

The Israel Defense Forces' evacuation orders in the Gaza Strip in August affected approximately 213,000 Palestinians, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The report, published on the UN organization's website, stated, "Since the beginning of August, the Israeli military has issued nine evacuation orders affecting some 213,000 people in Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and to a lesser extent, northern Gaza."

The international organization highlighted that the population density in the al-Mawasi area has surged dramatically, now ranging from 30,000 to 34,000 people per square kilometer. Before the conflict, the population density was about 1,200 people per square kilometer. The report emphasized that this increase has significantly worsened the humanitarian situation in the enclave.
