Expert talks about Pakistan's negative attitude towards sanctions against Russia

27 September 2022

Pakistan does not support the sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia. Zahid Ali Khan, President of the Trade House of Pakistan Association and Executive Director of the Pakistan-Russia Business Council under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, told reporters at the international forum "Export Marathon" in Yekaterinburg on Tuesday.

"Pakistan has a negative attitude towards sanctions against Russia and does not support them. Pakistan is extremely negative about this practice and is frank, honest about Russia on a long-term basis," he said.

According to him, Russia-Pakistan relations are developing positively, but political will and improvement of the regulatory framework are necessary for successful implementation of joint projects.

President of the Urals Chamber of Commerce and Industry Andrei Besedin added that Pakistan seems to be one of the most attractive regions. "Pakistan is a recent discovery. It is a country with more than two hundred million inhabitants, with a huge market that shows a unique willingness and desire to trade both ways," he said.
