During his speech at the presentation of the GSV “Russia - Islamic World”, which was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Farit Mukhametshin, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation Committee on International Affairs, described main activities of the Group at a new stage.
One of the most important things today, according to Mukhametshin, is the participation of the Group in working with Russian regions with a compact Muslim population.
“We expect that strengthening of regional efforts of the Group’s activity will allow raising the level of interregional, interreligious and cultural-tourist cooperation between our countries. Russian regions and foreign countries will have an opportunity to show each other their potential, to reach new level of cooperation in trade and economic cooperation”, - noted Farit Mukhametshin.
Also, among the promising areas of work, according to the parliamentarian, is promotion of humanitarian cooperation, establishment of business contacts in the trade, economic, scientific, technical and investment fields, intensification of mutual awareness and involvement of the youth in the activities of the Group.
