Russians living in the territory of Tajikistan play a significant role for bilateral ties. This, speaking at the XIII Conference of Russian Compatriots Living in Tajikistan, was declared by the Deputy Chairman of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Council Committee of the Federation Council, Farit Mukhametshin.
He recalled that following the visit of the President of Tajikistan to Moscow, as well as the 7th Conference on Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Tajikistan, 17 bilateral documents were signed between the two countries aimed at deepening diverse, including in the fields of education, tourism, migration, security, science and sports.
Mukhametshin also told about the work of the Council on the support of compatriots abroad, including in the field of legal protection, improvement of legislation on citizenship, the implementation of the concept of "Russian school abroad”.
