Deputy Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World", Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Farit Mukhametshin spoke at the plenary session of the ⅩⅣ International scientific conference "Ideals and Values of Abrahamic Traditions: Unity of Messages - Dialogue and Cooperation" in Ufa. The event was dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria.
In his speech, Farit Mukhametshin emphasized that Russia currently implements a whole range of projects and programs abroad, which are aimed at maintaining and further developing relations with Muslim countries, and at bringing together the interests of representatives of different nations and confessions.
"Examples of this are such significant events as the International economic summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit" and the meeting of the GSV "Russia - Islamic World". These events demonstrate to the world community the positive experience of the Russian Federation in preserving cultural diversity, interethnic harmony, the strength and depth of the Russian civil identity and commitment to the core values of the Russian society", he said.
The conference was attended by about 500 dignitaries and representatives of 19 foreign countries, including Almaz Faizullin, Deputy Head of the Department for Co-operation with Religious Organizations of the Presidential Administration for Domestic Policy; Ural Kilsenbayev, First Deputy Head of the Administration of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Domestic Policy; Talgat Tadzhuddin, Supreme Mufti, Chairman of the Central Religious Board of Muslims of Russia; Dan Krichevsky, Chief Rabbi of Ufa; Russian and foreign religious figures.
Greetings to the participants of the conference were sent by Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the organizing committee on preparation and holding the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria in 2022 and heads of the federal departments and religious organizations.
