Russian senators are planning to raise the issue of the violation of the rights of Russian-speaking citizens in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan at the inter-parliamentary level, the first deputy head of the Federation Council international committee, FSB general Vladimir Dzhabarov told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

Earlier, the media reported that the rights of Russian-speaking citizens were being violated in neighboring republics.
"We hope that the authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan themselves will decide to publicly punish people who commit nationalist acts against Russian-speaking citizens," Dzhabarov said.

He also noted that "we intend to discuss this topic at the inter-parliamentary level." "We have very good relations through inter-parliamentary cooperation, but they (the authorities of the republics) must make a decision, we must see that the Russian people are safe there," he said.

The politician also emphasized the danger of the revival of nationalist movements, adding that international practice shows that if the nationalists are not stopped in time, they become extremists.

Earlier, a man in Kyrgyzstan attacked a female employee of a children's center because she spoke to him in Russian. And in June this year a nine-year-old child was beaten by peers from the judo section. According to the boy's parents, the reason was inter-religious discord.
