Federation Council delegation to take part in IPA CIS Council in Kazakhstan

A delegation of the Federation Council headed by Speaker of the House Valentina Matvienko will pay a working visit to Kazakhstan to take part in a meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS), the press service of the Federation Council reported on Monday.


"The delegation of the Federation Council headed by Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, will visit the Republic of Kazakhstan on a working visit," the press service said.


The solemn session of the IPA CIS Council, which will be attended by Valentina Matvienko, will be held in Almaty on March 29. The meeting is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the IPA. Official parliamentary delegations and heads of partner organizations will also take part in the session.


The Speaker of the Federation Council will meet with Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate (upper house) of the Kazakh Parliament. A number of bilateral meetings with the heads of national delegations of the IPA CIS Member States is also envisaged.


The delegation of the Federation Council includes Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the House Committee on International Affairs, member of the Commission on Cooperation between the Federation Council and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Grigory Karasin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Jabarov.
