First youth forum of CIS and Eurasian Economic Union countries opened in Kyrgyzstan

25 August 2022

Interaction of young leaders from the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) countries will promote the development of Eurasian integration. The head of the Kyrgyzstan government Akylbek Zhaparov said this on Thursday in Choplon-Ata during the opening of the first youth forum "Kelechek" ("Future") of the CIS and EEU countries.

"Education and public projects, especially in the field of international economy, robotics and IT-technologies represent great opportunities for creative youth. It is important that the youth agenda of the CIS and the EAEU is one of the new vectors of Eurasian integration," he said.

According to him, the diversification of this direction in the future will allow "to expand the geography of youth contacts with foreign countries and integration regional associations - from South America to Southeast Asia."

"The practice of the last decades assures that in the dynamically changing world the strategic advantages will have those states and organizations, which can efficiently develop and productively use the innovative potential of development, the main carrier of which is the youth", the head of the government is sure.

As he noted, the event in Cholpon-Ata is attended by over 500 participants, the most "active youth representatives, among them there are people who are making great efforts for the stable growth of mutually beneficial cooperation and integration in the CIS and EEU."

"I hope that our forum will become a "breakthrough lever" of youth integration processes in the CIS and EEU countries," Zhaparov emphasized.

The first youth forum is held on the initiative of Kyrgyzstan and is timed to coincide with the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata on August 25-26.
