Five Russian-language schools to be built in Tajikistan

19 February 2020

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law ratifying agreements with Tajikistan on the building and technical equipment of five Russian-language schools in the republic.

The agreements are "phased construction and determination of the agreed conditions of financing the material and technical support of general education disciplines in Russian with a fixed number of up to 1200 students."

Teaching in these schools will be conducted in accordance with Russian educational standards. At the same time, both parties will focus on the priority of procurement and the use of Russian-made equipment.

The implementation of the agreement requires the allocation of funds from the federal budget.

According to the intergovernmental agreement signed in Moscow on April 17, 2019, Russian-language schools will be opened in Dushanbe, Kulyab, Khujand, Bohtar and Tursunzade.
