For the first time in ten years, the Russian Navy to hold joint exercises with NATO

Russian Navy ships will hold joint exercises with NATO countries, including the United States and Britain, for the first time in 10 years, the maneuvers will take place in February off the coast of Pakistan, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet told reporters.


"In addition to ships of the Navy of Pakistan and the Russian Navy, the exercise "AMAN-2021" will involve the US Navy, the Royal Navy of Great Britain, the Navy of the People's Republic of China, the maritime self-defense forces of Japan, the Navy of the Republic of Turkey, the Navy of the Philippines, the Royal Malaysian Navy, the Navy of Sri Lanka and the Navy of Indonesia," the press service of the fleet notes.


The exercise will be held in February 2021 in the waters of Karachi. The Russian Navy will be represented by a frigate, a patrol ship, a rescue tugboat, a unit of marines, a demining detachment and a sea-based helicopter.


The last time Russian Navy ships acted together with ships of the North Atlantic Alliance was in 2011 off the coast of Spain in the framework of the "Bold Monarch" exercise, the Black Sea Fleet added.
