On Thursday, at the meeting of the foreign ministers in the "China-Central Asia" format, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan  Jeenbek Kulubaev called to intensify efforts to improve the transport infrastructure in the region. This was reported by the press service of the foreign ministry of the republic.

"According to Kulubaev, the geographical position of Central Asian countries allows them to become an important land transit zone for transportation and trade between East Asia, the Middle East and Europe. For this purpose it is necessary to increase the level of transport and logistics integration and to create new transport hubs and corridors in the region," the report says.

In this regard, the minister noted the need to accelerate the construction of the railroad China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan, which is important not only for the project participants, but also for the entire region. Kulubaev believes that the aggregate economic potential of the region has all the prerequisites for its transformation into one of the most important hubs of world trade.

According to the press service, the meeting resulted in the signing of a joint communiqué and a protocol on the consideration of the Xi'an Declaration of the China-Central Asia summit.
