Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan to visit Moscow on May 21-22

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov will pay a working visit to Moscow on May 21-22, and will hold negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Wednesday.


"Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister [Bakhtiyor Saidov] will pay a working visit to the Russian Federation from May 21 to 22. As part of his program he will hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister [Sergey Lavrov] in Moscow," Zakharova said.


"The entire complex of bilateral political cooperation, which is based on strategic partnership and alliance, as well as a number of topical issues of trade, economic and cultural and humanitarian nature are expected to be addressed," the diplomat said.


According to Zakharova, the foreign ministers of Russia and Uzbekistan will also discuss issues of promoting interstate dialogue. "The ministers will exchange views on the regional situation, taking into account the coordinated contribution to developing cooperation, as well as maintaining stability and security in Central Asia and its approaches," she added.


"It is planned to consider key integration processes in the Eurasian space, as well as generally significant problems for the states of the continent," Zakharova concluded.
