Russian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Mohammad Javad Zarif held telephone talks. The main topic of discussion, according to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, was coordination in the fight against coronavirus and the current international agenda.
"There was a thorough exchange of views on topical issues on the international agenda, with an emphasis on the development of the situation in Afghanistan, taking into account the role of regional states. They also touched upon the prospects of intensifying efforts to resolve the situation in Yemen in the light of the latest UN proposals," the message reads.
The Ministers paid special attention to the tasks of "multilateral coordination in the fight against the coronavirus infection, including the rejection of illegal unilateral sanctions and other restrictions on the supply of medicines and essential goods".
