Foreign Ministers of Russia and Jordan Sergey Lavrov and Ayman Al-Safadi discussed the process of returning refugees to Syria. This was announced at a press conference following the results of negotiations by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“We paid a lot of attention to such an aspect of the Syrian settlement as creating conditions for the return of refugees. There are a lot of them in Jordan, ”said Lavrov, in particular.

“Achieving not yet very large but real success” in the return of Syrian refugees, he said, is possible thanks to the decisions that are being developed within the framework of the Russian-Jordanian operational headquarters for the return of Syrian refugees.

“Representatives of the United Nations and the United States periodically join the work of the Russian-Jordanian center in Amman, and we actively urge all foreign partners to establish close coordination and remove political and any other artificial obstacles in providing humanitarian assistance to the Syrian civilian population, including in the interests of return of refugees, ”the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized.
