Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu held a telephone conversation to discuss cooperation within the six-party format of Russia-Central Asia (CA5 + Russia), the Russian Foreign Ministry's website reports.
The ministers addressed current issues in bilateral relations, including the schedule of upcoming contacts and cooperation in the CA5 + Russia format.
Meetings in the Central Asia + format occur regularly, including at the level of heads of state. In 2022, a "Central Asia + Russia" summit was held, and in 2023, meetings took place with China, the United States, leaders of Arab countries, and the European Union.
