Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov received a telephone call from Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ibrahim Al-Assaf at the latter's initiative.
The two ministers discussed current issues related to further consolidating the extensive cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia, with emphasis on President Putin’s forthcoming visit to Riyadh in October this year.
They also exchanged opinions on key issues on the regional agenda, including developments in Syria, Yemen, and the Persian Gulf region.
