Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic Walid Muallem exchanged congratulatory telegrams on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
According to the website of the Russian MFA, the foreign Ministers noted the traditionally friendly Russian-Syrian relations, which have reached a new level of cooperation in recent years, including in the context of Russia's decisive contribution to the fight against terrorism in Syria.
"There is a desire to further develop diverse cooperation between Moscow and Damascus both in the bilateral format and on international platforms in the interests of the peoples of our two countries, in order to strengthen peace and stability in Syria and the Middle East in general," the message states.
