Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia note unprecedented dynamics of partnership between two countries

Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov said that at the meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, the two sides pointed to the unprecedented dynamics of mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.

 

"[We] had a warm and fruitful meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov today in Moscow. We emphasized the unprecedented dynamics of mutually beneficial partnership, and outlined a number of areas and promising directions for further enrichment of our relations," he wrote in his Telegram channel following the talks.

 

 

According to a statement from the Russian MFA issued on Monday following the talks, Lavrov and Saidov discussed additional measures to strengthen stability and security in the region. The foreign ministry pointed out that while discussing regional and international security issues, Lavrov outlined Russia's assessment of the current situation in Ukraine and the progress of the special military operation. For his part, Saidov said that Tashkent intends to seek new points of growth in relations with Moscow, and also informed his Russian counterpart about the preparations for the early presidential election in Uzbekistan on July 9.

 

During the talks, the sides paid special attention to consolidating coordination in the common integration associations - the CIS, the SCO, as well as the EEU.
