The diplomat recalled that during the visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Moscow on February 22, the Declaration on allied cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed, "which brings bilateral relations to a new level." "We regard it as an important milestone in our multifaceted ties and are determined to vigorously implement all the provisions of the aforementioned Declaration," Gonchar said.

He stressed that the document covers the whole range of bilateral relations of the states and implies closer foreign policy coordination, increase of trade and economic cooperation (including in the fuel and energy and financial spheres).

"The very logic and intensity of Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation has led us to a natural increase in the level of bilateral relations. It is very symbolic that the Declaration on allied cooperation was signed in the 30th anniversary year of the establishment of diplomatic relations," the diplomat summarized.
