The intensification of fighting between the warring parties in Libya indicates that the truce announced in January is no longer being observed, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told a briefing.

"The events of recent days on the territory of this state cause us serious concern. The intensification of hostilities between forces supporting the Government of National Accord and units of the Libyan National Army indicates, in our opinion, that the truce announced in January this year is no longer observed by the warring parties," she said, in particular.

In addition, the diplomat commented on reports of an explosive increase in the number of cases of the coronavirus infection among the US military in Syria, recalling that the US is on the territory of the Arab Republic illegally.

"This means that Washington bears full responsibility for the civilian population and ensuring their humanitarian needs in the territories under its control in the Trans-Euphrates region and in the South, in Al-Tanf, where Rukban camp for displaced persons is located," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier today, the UN expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in the camp against the background of the spread of the coronavirus in the world.
