Foreign Ministry: Russia will supply an additional batch of Sputnik V to Syria if necessary

03 June 2021

Moscow is ready to deliver an additional batch of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Damascus, should Syria need it, Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister, told reporters on the sidelines of the SPIEF on Thursday.

"Of course, there were supplies [of the Sputnik V vaccine] to Syria. I think there will be more if Damascus has such a need," the deputy minister said.

The Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine was registered in Syria this February. Its use is permitted in the territory of the republic.
