Russia has received information about concrete facts of cooperation of the US-led foreign contingent with the terrorist group Islamic State (IS, banned in Russian Federation) in Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, the Russian President's Special Representative for Afghanistan and director of the Foreign Ministry's Second Asia Department, said on Tuesday in an online discussion at the Valdai International Discussion Club.

"I am sure there was such interaction. But we did not just start talking about this. We began to receive quite specific information about such facts of cooperation. About the facts of helicopter transshipment [of weapons]," he pointed out. - "And we were getting it from the local Afghans, including the local leaders, who didn't understand why the helicopters were providing weapons and ammunition to areas that were occupied by ISIS".

According to Kabulov, this is not the only fact. In this regard, he recalled the case when the Taliban (banned in the Russian Federation) in northern Afghanistan in Faryab province blockaded a large detachment of ISIS. "These all the fighters were already taken out by helicopters with identification signs, as it initially seemed, to an unknown direction, but then to the area of Bagram airbase, and then they dissolved somewhere. There are a lot of little things like that, but when you get a lot of little things like that, the conclusion is clear," the diplomat added.
