Foreign Ministry says Russia and Iran have reserves to deepen multifaceted partnership

The tradition of friendship between Moscow and Tehran is getting stronger every year, and the ties between the countries have the potential for further deepening and expansion. This was said in a commentary by Russian Foreign Ministry official representative Maria Zakharova on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Foundations of Relations and Principles of Cooperation between Russia and Iran.


Zakharova called the document "a historic milestone in relations between the countries."


"Traditions of friendship and good neighborliness between Russia and Iran are getting stronger every year for the benefit of citizens of the two states, as well as stability and security in the region and beyond," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said. - "Moscow and Tehran approached the anniversary of the treaty with a solid portfolio of achievements in all spheres, and the remaining unused reserves and the potential for mutually beneficial partnership open up broad prospects for further deepening and expanding multifaceted ties".
