Former Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi died in courtroom

Former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi died during a court hearing. As the Egyptian state television reported, the cause of death was a heart attack.

 

 


According to the country's Attorney General, Mursi fell in a cell during a break between sessions and lost consciousness.

 

 


He was taken to the hospital, but the doctors could not save him.

 

 


The 68-year-old politician is already buried in the eastern part of Cairo.

 

 


Mohammed Mursi came to power in 2012, but he ruled the country only one year. Mursi was overthrown after military coup.

 

 


The ex-president and his associates were accused of transferring top-secret data about the work of the Egyptian special services and the army to Qatar intelligence. Mursi did not recognize this allegation.
