Four documents have been signed as a result of the visit of the president of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, to Russia. This was announced on Thursday during the meeting between the foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, Ruslan Kazakbaev and Sergey Lavrov, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
"During the visit (of the president of Kyrgyzstan) the following documents were signed: an agreement between the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian government on the provision of free technical assistance by the Russian Federation to the republic to create a system of marking goods with identification means in Kyrgyzstan; a protocol between the defense ministries of the two states on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the Kyrgyz Republic, " the message reads.
According to the press service, also a program of the strategic partnership between the two countries in the military sector for the period from 2021 to 2025 and a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Regional Development of Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Ministry of Agriculture on cooperation in the supply of agricultural products were signed.
During the meeting, Lavrov and Kazakbaev discussed current topics of multilateral cooperation within the framework of international, regional and integration organizations and also considered issues of counteraction to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ministers also agreed to coordinate the work of ministries and departments of the two countries and to continue permanent political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries to discuss topical issues of bilateral, international and regional agendas. The two foreign ministers also signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in "ensuring international information security, aimed at establishing a legal and organizational framework for cooperation between the parties in this area".
Zhaparov's two-day visit to Russia took place on February 24-25.
