Special services prevented a terrorist attack in the city of Kimry, Tver region. According to the FSB, the criminals were preparing attacks on officials and law enforcement officers.
"A Russian citizen born in 2001 who was involved in the preparation of arson attacks on government buildings and armed attacks on law enforcement officers and civil servants has been detained," the Agency said in a release.
A traumatic pistol with homemade ammunition, three Molotov cocktails, cold weapons and diaries with data on the planned crime were seized from the detainee. What motives he was guided by, however, is not specified.
A criminal case has been opened.
In 2020, several attacks were prevented on the territory of Russia. In January, in Crimea, a resident of the Peninsula was detained, who by order of the Ukrainian special services created caches with explosives.
In February, the FSB reported on the suppression of the preparation of terrorist attacks in two educational institutions in Kerch.
In March, a terrorist in Bashkiria, three militants in Kabardino-Balkaria and a man who was preparing an attack in Krasnodar were neutralized.
In April, the FSB prevented terrorist attacks in Stavropol, Yugra, Murmansk and Crimea, and also stopped an attack on an educational institution in the Tyumen region.
The last high-profile case occurred on April 30 in Yekaterinburg: as a result of counter-terrorism operations, three criminals who were preparing attacks were neutralized.
