10 November 2023

The Gaza Strip's government press office reported that the damage caused to residential buildings and infrastructure due to Israeli strikes is estimated to be around $3 billion.

"The initial assessment indicates that the damage to residential buildings and towers totals $2 billion, while the damage to infrastructure is estimated at approximately $1 billion," states a statement published on the Facebook page of the Gaza Strip government's press service (Facebook banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia).

According to the Gaza Strip government, since the conflict escalated on October 7, Israel has dropped over 13,000 bombs on the enclave. The report highlights that "since the start of the aggression in the Gaza Strip, the occupier has used approximately 32,000 tons of explosives and more than 13,000 bombs, averaging 87 tons per kilometer." The report notes that more than half of the housing units in the enclave were damaged due to shelling, with 40,000 completely destroyed.
