General Staff of Russia: Terrorists launch a campaign to discredit the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria

29 July 2019

Terrorists operating in Syria have launched a campaign to discredit the work of the Russian military in the Syrian Arab Republic, Head of the Main operational Department of the General staff of the Russian armed forces Colonel-General Sergey Rudskoy said.

According to him, the militants accuse the Russian aerospace forces of "strikes on civilians" in the Idlib de-escalation zone. This kind of information is distributed by the "White helmets" organization spreading staged videos.

"It is claimed that the Russian aircraft allegedly strikes at civilians and socially important objects," noted, in particular, Rudskoy.

In this regard, the head of the General staff emphasized that the Russian soldiers strike the previously explored targets.

"All the strikes are targeted and surgical", he said.

Last week the "White helmets" organization accused the Russian aerospace forces of airstrike on the Syrian market. The Ministry of Defense stressed that the Russian soldiers did not have any tasks in the area.
