The Russian government has approved a draft agreement with Tajikistan on the creation of a joint air defense system of the two countries. This is stated in a cabinet of ministers decree published on Wednesday on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"The government of the Russian Federation decides <...> to submit to the President of the Russian Federation a proposal to sign the said agreement," the document, signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, reads.

The draft agreement notes that the parties will allocate a separate collective security area.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Air and Space Forces of the Russian Armed Forces will coordinate joint actions of troops of the United Regional Air Defense System of Russia and Tajikistan and of troops belonging to other regional air defense systems in the Central Asian region of collective security, the document says.
