"The composition of the transitional government should be announced in the coming days," Lavrov said at the Russian Znanie Society marathon.
"We have for many years, together with our partners, promoted an international format that is optimal for the external accompaniment of an intra-Afghan settlement and that includes all five Central Asian republics, India, Pakistan, China, Iran, the United States... We are ready to provide such formats for all the countries that are genuinely interested in helping the Afghans come to an agreement," he added.
Earlier Reuters reported that the head of Taliban* political office, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, would lead the new government of Afghanistan. It was reported that Deputy Taliban leader Mohammad Yaqoob and Deputy Taliban political office Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai will hold high posts in the new government besides Baradar. The media also reported that the composition of the new government could be announced on Friday.
