Group of specialists from Russia arrived in Azerbaijan to fight COVID-19

A team of specialists from Russia and Turkey has arrived in Azerbaijan to fight the COVID-19 coronavirus infection. They will work together with local specialists, RIA Novosti was informed on Thursday at the operational headquarters of the Republic's Cabinet of Ministers.


"In accordance with the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, a group of foreign specialists working in the field of a new type of the coronavirus has arrived in Azerbaijan to the operational headquarters of the Cabinet of Ministers. As part of the measures to prevent the widespread spread of the COVID-19 infection, specialists, resuscitators and pulmonologists from Russia and Turkey are currently meeting with the medical staff of the operational headquarters, exchanging experience in the field of measures aimed at combating the COVID-19 pandemic," the headquarter reported.


They specified that " members of the scientific council for COVID-19 of the Turkish Ministry of Health, as well as highly specialized doctors from Russia and Turkey will be in special-regime hospitals, working in the field of treatment and prevention together with local specialists."


As of Wednesday, the total number of recorded cases of  the coronavirus in Azerbaijan reached 21,916, the infection was detected in 542 people during the day, and 274 patients with COVID-19 died in the country.
