Farit Mukhametshin, Deputy Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World", discussed on Thursday with Timur Shafir, Vice President of the International Federation of Journalists, various options and formats of cooperation of the Group with both the International Federation of Journalists and the Union of Journalists of Russia (UJR), where Shafir heads the international direction.
During the meeting an agreement was reached to hold joint events within the framework of the All Russia Forum of Journalists of UJR as well as within the framework of the Forum of Muslim Journalists held under the auspices of the GSV "Russia - Islamic World".
At present, the Union of Journalists of Russia is intensifying its work with the countries of the East and the whole Muslim world, as well as actively interacting with representatives of journalistic communities in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, and the Pacific region.
One of the important areas of this work is a consolidation of efforts of the journalistic communities of the Russian Federation and international associations, which undoubtedly also meets the interests of the GSV, which organizes the annual forum of journalists from Islamic countries and Russia.
