GSV leadership to meet with ambassadors of the OIC member states

On June 9, 2021, the Cultural Centre of the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia will host an information meeting between the leadership of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World" and the ambassadors of the OIC member states accredited in Moscow. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to attend.


The agenda includes a speech by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the GSV "Russia-Islamic World", summing up the Group's activities in 2020, presenting a number of planned events for 2021, outlining new areas of work and partnership cooperation, along with a review of the prospects of cooperation between Russia at the federal and regional level with countries of the Muslim world.


Special attention will be paid to the issues of preparation for the World Conference on Inter-religious and Inter-ethnic Dialogue in 2022, as well as the presentation of the International Economic Summit "Russia-Islamic World: KazanSammit 2021" which will be held in the capital of Tatarstan on July 28-30, 2021. Within the framework of the summit, round tables devoted to the issues of interregional and information cooperation, with the participation of delegations of Muslim countries and the OIC News Agency Union are planned.


Besides the ambassadors of the OIC member countries, the current members of the GSV "Russia - Islamic World", the representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan and the heads of a number of subjects of the Russian Federation, public and religious figures are expected to be among the participants of the meeting.
