Halit Eren, Director General of IRCICA, takes part in the International forum of writers and intellectuals "Aitmatov Readings - for the dialogue of cultures". He noted the importance and necessity of holding such a level of events in Kazan, the city of culture.
"In his works, Aitmatov told about the common memory of the peoples of Central Asia, revealed the image of an ordinary person. He was both a great novelist and a good diplomat. Aitmatov is known not only for his endless efforts to harmonize the inter-cultural dialogue, but also made a special contribution to the emergence and further functioning of the Group of strategic vision "Russia-Islamic world".
Noting that IRCICA is a cultural branch of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Halit Eren drew attention to the expansion of cultural relations between the Islamic world and the Russian Federation.
"We have already organized five international congresses dedicated to the study of the history and culture of the peoples of the Volga-Ural region. IRCICA also took part in the meeting of the Group of strategic vision Russia-Islamic world and a number of events held by the Group. We hope that this will not be our last joint event."
