Hamas Calls for Pressure on US to End Gaza Offensive

19 March

The Hamas movement has urged friendly nations to pressure the US into stopping Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, according to a statement published on the group’s Telegram channel.

"We appreciate the stance taken at the Arab, Islamic, and international levels in condemning and rejecting the renewed brutal aggression of [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu and his extremist government, which refused the ceasefire agreement in Gaza," the statement read.

Hamas called on allies who support the Palestinian cause to push the US administration to halt “aggression and genocidal war against defenseless civilians.”

On March 18, the Israeli military launched widespread strikes on Gaza, after the group rejected ceasefire proposals brokered by international mediators and US envoy Steve Witkoff.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the latest escalation has killed over 400  and injured more than 560.
