Hamas Warns of Escalation Following Haniyeh's Assassination

31 July

Hamas has warned that the assassination of its leader Ismail Haniyeh will lead to an escalation of the conflict, but will not aid Israel in achieving its objectives against the Palestinian movement, Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri told during an interview with Al-Aqsa TV.

“The killing of Ismail Haniyeh by the Israeli occupation is a serious escalation aimed at breaking the will of Hamas and our people. We confirm that this escalation will not achieve its false goals,” Abu Zuhri stated.

He emphasized that Hamas will persist in its resistance against Israel despite Haniyeh’s death. “Hamas is an idea that cannot be destroyed by the martyrdom of its leaders. We are confident of victory and will continue our path despite the sacrifices,” the spokesperson added.
