Bagdat Musin, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, commenting on the situation around Gagarin's Start, said on Tuesday that he plans to discuss with Dmitry Rogozin, head of Roscosmos, the activities of the Baikonur Cosmodrome in August.

Launch pad №1 ("Gagarin's Start") - is the oldest launch pad at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Vostok spaceship with the world's first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin on board left from it on April 12, 1961. A trilateral joint venture (Kazakhstan, Russia and the UAE) is planned to modernize the launch pad and service the launches of Soyuz-2 rockets.

"The Arab Emirates did not give their consent, we have now scheduled a meeting with Mr. Rogozin in August on the Baikonur topic in general. At the moment, the attraction of investors has been suspended," he told reporters. The head of the agency also noted that the project has been suspended due to the decrease in activity on manned launches.

At the end of December last year, Musin said that Kazakhstan and Russia would look for another investor for the Gagarin Launch modernization project at the Baikonur Cosmodrome if the UAE delayed in making a decision on this issue.
