Head of Turkmenistan expressed condolences over the death of 16 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in a traffic accident

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent his condolences to President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in connection with the death of Kyrgyz citizens in Ulyanovsk region of Russia in a traffic accident. The official newspaper Neytralny Turkmenistan reported this on Tuesday.


On behalf of the people and the government of the country, as well as himself, Berdimuhamedov conveyed the words of sincere empathy and support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims, as well as his wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured, the newspaper reported.


The accident happened on August 21 on the highway M-5 "Ural" in Nikolayevsky district of Ulyanovsk region. As a result, 16 people were killed, citizens of Kyrgyzstan, and three others were injured. The driver of the truck did not brake in advance and hit a standing minibus, waiting in a queue for the reverse traffic on the road section under repair.


August 23 is declared a day of mourning in Kyrgyzstan.
