Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the head of Turkmenistan's Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council), held discussions with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon regarding the situation in Afghanistan, the official newspaper Neytralny Turkmenistan reported following Berdimuhamedov's visit to Dushanbe.
According to the newspaper, during the meeting, Berdimuhamedov highlighted the challenges and threats to regional security and stability, particularly in light of developments in neighboring regions and countries, notably Afghanistan. He emphasized Turkmenistan's previous statements regarding the necessity of bolstering the regional approach to addressing the Afghan issue. This entails enhancing cooperation among Afghanistan's neighboring states, as they have a vested interest in the swift establishment of peace and harmony in the country.
Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Dushanbe commenced on April 4, coinciding with the commencement of Turkmen Culture Days in Tajikistan.
