15 March

The Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) has claimed responsibility for striking three ships in the Indian Ocean. This announcement was made by the movement's military spokesperson, Yahya Saria, on the Houthi-owned Al Masirah TV channel.

"The Yemeni Armed Forces have initiated a broader campaign against Israeli ships, as well as vessels associated with Israel or destined for ports in occupied Palestine," - Saria stated. - "This campaign now extends to shipping routes through the Indian Ocean and the Cape of Good Hope. Three operations have already been executed against three Israeli and American ships in the Indian Ocean, utilizing a variety of naval missiles and drones."

Furthermore, Saria indicated that commercial ships heading to Israel via the Cape of Good Hope in Southern Africa would be considered "legitimate targets" for the Houthis. He emphasized that the Yemeni armed forces would continue to obstruct Israeli shipping in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean.
