Russian Security Council discussed the emergence of a new form of terrorism

The Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Yuri Kokov, speaking at the international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues in Ufa, announced the emergence of a new form of terrorism.

According to Kokov, this new form are the attacks on coastal infrastructure using swimmers, saboteurs who are able to mine ports and seize ships.

 

 


“One of the new forms of terrorist activity was attempts at attacking coastal infrastructure using swimmers and saboteurs trained in relevant centers and skilled in mining seaport waters and seizing civilian vessels, primarily tankers and gas carriers”, -  he said.

 

 


Speaking about the new technologies used by terrorists, Kokov said that in recent months there have been several cases of terrorist use of 3D printers for the manufacture of not only cold but also firearms from polymeric materials, which cannot be detected by a metal detector.
