Russia should play a stabilizing role in the Middle East, and also defend a political approach to resolving various kinds of conflicts. One of the Leaders of the popular Islamic Tunisian party "Al-Nahda" Abdelkarim Harouni has announced about it in an interview for RIA Novosti.
According to the politician, Russia and the Islamic and, in particular, the Arab states have close relations, which give it a "chance to play a positive role in the region". However, in Harouni’s opinion, Russia "should not be involved in conflicts or wars, which would make it a party to these conflicts".
"We expect Russia to play the role of advocate of political decisions, which will contribute to the stability of the Arab and Islamic world", the Tunisian politician informed.
