Russian citizens arriving in Indonesia will be able to obtain visas when crossing the border from Monday. The Indonesian tourist office in Russia told TASS earlier that starting May 30, 2022, Russian citizens will be able to enter the country, which is popular among Russian tourists, under simplified visa rules.
"Tourists can now apply for a VOA (Visa on Arrival - TASS) at airports or ports in Indonesia," the office pointed out.
According to the latest decision of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Indonesia on May 27, Russia was included in the expanded list of 72 countries whose citizens have such rights. The updated list also included Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Peru, Serbia and Ukraine.
The validity of this visa is limited to a period of 30 calendar days, with the possibility of one extension for another 30 calendar days. The cost of initial processing will be $35.
In addition, to visit Indonesia without quarantine, Russians will need to have a certificate of full vaccination with Sputnik V or other vaccines approved by Indonesia, and a passport with a validity of at least six months at the time of entry. Visitors will also need $25,000 worth of insurance covering COVID-19 and a return ticket or ticket to another country. Children under the age of 18 accompanied by vaccinated parents do not need to be vaccinated.
Resorts in Indonesia in recent years are especially popular among Russians. The most popular destination in Southeast Asia remains Bali Island, but the islands of Lombok, Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, the archipelago of Gili and Yogyakarta also attract lovers of both beach and recreation. To date, there are no direct flights from Russia, and it is possible to get to Indonesia with connections in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul.
