The Institute of Oriental studies of RAS held a meeting with a representative delegation headed by Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of the World Muslim Communities Council and the head of the Hedayah International Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism.
As reported on the website of the Russian Academy of Sciences, during the meeting, which was attended by Russian experts and orientalists, the parties discussed the possibility of interaction of the World Council of Muslim Communities with the Russian scientific and expert community, in particular, to develop new methods of countering radicalism and extremism in all regions of the world.
Following the meeting, a Memorandum of understanding was signed by Vitaly Naumkin, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Group of strategic vision Russia – Islamic world, and Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the World Muslim Communities Council.
