The Civic Chamber of Russia hosted a meeting of the Secretary of the Civic Chamber Valery Fadeyev and chairman of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia Albir Krganov with the Indonesian delegation led by Indonesian President's Special Envoy for Interfaith and Cultural Dialogue and Cooperation Syafiq Mughni.
The main topic of the conversation was the development of interfaith dialogue in the context of relations between Russia and Indonesia and the discussion of joint ways to counter terrorism and extremism.
Valery Fadeyev stressed that all world religions are represented in Russia without exception, and in the history of the country interfaith conflicts were extremely rare, which makes it possible to consider Russia as a successful example of the implementation of the principles of religious tolerance at the state level.
During his speech, Albir Krganov spoke about how educational projects for the Muslim community are being implemented in Russia and the role of the Fund for support of Islamic culture, science and education in this process. Also at Syafiq Mughni's request, Albir Krganov focused on the structure of Russian Muslim organizations.
