Israel and some Western politicians were planning to start a civil war in Iran that would lead to the disintegration of the country. Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian of the Islamic Republic issued this statement Thursday.

"The Israeli regime, as well as a number of Western politicians, have tried to start a civil war in Iran that would lead to the disintegration of the state," he wrote on his Twitter page. - "But they know that Iran is not Libya or Sudan."

On October 3, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said that he did not doubt US and Israeli involvement in the Iranian protests. He made a similar statement on October 12, when he described the countrywide unrest as "clumsy machinations of the enemy against the great and innovative achievements of the Iranian nation."

The protests in Iran have been going on for two months, since September 16, with the funeral of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. According to the official version, the Kurdish girl was detained by police because she was improperly wearing a headscarf. During interrogation, she had a heart attack, which caused her death. On social media, however, it was reported that Amini had been beaten by the police.
