The United States supports Israel solely to seize control of the Middle East's resources, according to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during a Friday prayer in Tehran, broadcast by IRIB.
"The US and its allies' support of the usurping regime [Israel] is merely a cover for their policy to turn this regime into their tool to seize all the region's resources and use it [Israel] in global conflicts," Khamenei stated.
He also mentioned that the “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023, along with a year of conflict between Israel and resistance forces, has pushed Israel back to its early days of existence. According to Khamenei, the regime now faces problems similar to those it encountered in its formative years.
On the evening of October 1, Iran launched a massive missile strike on Israel in retaliation for the killings of key figures in Hamas, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Tehran claimed that 90% of the missiles hit their intended targets, while Israel reported that most of the approximately 180 missiles launched were intercepted. Israel's General Staff vowed to "choose the right time" for a retaliatory surprise, while Khamenei warned that future strikes against Israel would be even more extensive.
