Iran and Russia will hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in September

Iran and Russia agreed to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in September this year, it can be held in both virtual and face-to-face format, the Iranian Embassy in Moscow  reports following a meeting between Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali and Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Tikhonov.


"The meeting discussed the holding of the 16th session of the intergovernmental commission in September this year and it was decided that this meeting would be held at the appointed time in face - to-face or virtual formats," the Embassy's Telegram channel said.


"Holding a meeting of working groups on cooperation in the field of energy of the two countries, as well as implementing several new projects in the field of agriculture, energy and transport were among the other agreements reached at this meeting. The Ambassador of our country at this meeting thanked the Russian Federation for its recent support on political and international platforms, " the diplomatic mission noted.


The meeting of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation has been postponed until the autumn, the Ministry of Energy of Iran reported earlier.


Russia's trade representative in Iran, Rustam Zhiganshin, earlier told RIA Novosti that the meeting of the intergovernmental commission could have been held in June, but was postponed to a later date.
